All kids have growth plates in the arms and legs. it its the part next to the wrist that new bone grows to make the arms longer and the legs taller. Sometimes the break is so bad that the kid will have problems with making new bone, but Courtney just has a small crack, and this cast is just to protect it from further damage. We didn't even take her to the doctor, for 4 days because it wasn't disfigured, and she could move it, so we thought it was just sprained. But this kind of fracture is very common in kids, though. So, she gets her cast off on October 14th.

Well ya are just never to old to learn!!!
Oh I remember some cracks and fractures and booboo's with your mom mostly, and Mike and Becky... Some were OUT of this world ugly!!!
Mike's bruised arm swollen nearly 4 times its size, and nothing broken.. Becky's EYE swollen so much it was shut for days and skin was soooo tight it shined! I saw a real "shiner." Mom always had fractured fingers, playing volleyball in school or something.
But that was about all I can remember.. they weren't toooo bad!
OUR rain here topped off at 10 1/2 inches... bad flooding everywhere. Corner house had the most water ever in the front.
