It seems that the kids have been home more than they have been in school, these past few weeks. Between the ice, and snow, the kids are having a blast staying home. This morning when we woke up, it didn't look like we got all that much snow. But then I let the dogs out and then I saw the snow. Poor Sam. It was up to his belly. The list of school closings grew and grew, and once again, the girls have no school. Yesterday, Ashley's school had no water.
On the up side, all this time at home with the kids has been fun. Ashley has been reading some words, and the twins are playing nice together.... go figure, they like each other for now. Dad has opened up a can of worms with the kids. He thought it would be fun to get Walkie Talkies that have a range of 22 miles. He gave the kids one and he has one. So, the kids and him have been calling back and forth for the past few days. They actually have called him at 4:30 AM. David found a set of Walkie Talkies that his Dad had gotten for the kids years ago. We found out that they all work together. Now we have 4 Walkie Talkies. Each kid has one and Dad has one, so the kids were on each level of the house talking to each other and Dad. It is super cute to just listen to them. Dad's name is Papa Bear, Sarah is Sarah Bear, Courtney is Courter Girl, and Ashley likes to be called Baby Bear. Then they talk and say over and out. do you copy? They sound so grown up. Sometimes I feel as if I live with a bunch of Truckers without the cussing.
Well, that is everything new that has been going on around North Judson, Indiana. So, I think I'm going to sign off for today. OVER and OUT!

Boy we have a bundle of snow here too...
In the middle of the night or early morning Donnie McCarter came by and plowed our drive, but there was plenty more on it when I got up. I do love snow!! So I got dressed went out and shoveled from the garage to the 2nd bird feeder and the back side walks.. Whew, But I took my time and pushed most of it.
Then I drove gramps to rehab, and we stopped at the store. After we got home I scooped some more, and it is still coming down. I will get my fill of snow this winter I am thinking!!
I put on a pot of hamburger Soup and oh it smelled sooo good and tasted better! (I use ground turkey and this time I put one little dash of Chili powder in it.)
Gramps called his sister Barb, in Florida, and she sure would love to be here for the snow.. she misses it.
If I remember correctly your Mom & Uncle Mike had walkie talkies to play with as kids.. not that much range tho...
... Am off to work on my Sunday School lesson, THIS month we are doing a study on finances, and using money wisely. Ought to be a help to lots of us. :-) Later.
I'm pretty sure I remember having a ball with some walkie talkies when we were kids, too. That sounds like a lot of fun. We had our own snow day here. John's Mom was supposed to watch the baby today, but she called off this morning because it was so bad, and even worse for her south of us in Cedar Lake. So I called work and they said not to bother because we wouldn't have many kids come out in this weather anyway. So Jules and I slept in with Daddy (he's on midnights). It's been a great day. I love being at home.
Well, I do think I remember some walkie talkies, too! LOL....Jay got up at 5am and was out the door at 5:20am. I got up about 6:30am and went right out without any coffee, and shoveled half the drive....came in, drank 2 cups of coffee, went back out and did the rest of the sidewalks and more driveway. Our neighbor across from us, Ron, came over with his snowblower and did the very bottom of the driveway to the road and then he went up and down both sides of the sidewalks....I came in and then walked Willie and then got ready for work....no snow day for us....LOL....Sounds like the kids are having fun on their snow day, and they should!! Cute!! LOL....Give them kisses for me....:-)
