The Reason.....

Grandma and anyone else who is wondering.....

The Reason that Dog owners get the Dew Claws removed is really for the dogs safety. When you have a hunting dog that is out in the thick brush the claws can get caught on the brush and get torn off. Just like your long finger nail getting caught on things and getting ripped off. So, most Breeders of hunting dogs get them done when they are super young, like Molly's breeder. Sam still has his Dew Claws and we do not hunt him, so they have not bothered him yet. knock on wood. :) So, now you have learned something today!

We still don't know the "purpose" of them, do we... but I know now "why" the people take them off.. I just never noticed them much on any of the wide variety we have had in life.. maybe some day I'll count them all up. LOL
Later guys have a good one, Woke up to ooooodles of snow! And the pretty stuff on the branches/bushes.
