A Sad Day in the Family.....

You know, I knew that Animals could get sick much like people do. But I never thought I'd see it myself. When Mom and Dad told me that Macy was really sick, her gums were snow white, and she was severely Anemic, I thought she would bounce back. The vet thought she was poisoned. With What? This was on Monday. On Thursday, I got Macy into a Emergency Vet in Valparaiso to see if a Transfusion would help her.

They started a I.V. and told mom and dad to go to Purdue University in Westville. Things went from hopeful to devastating. They did some blood work and found out that Macy has a autoimmune disorder. She would never recover and any treatment would make her worse. So, Last night Mom and Dad made the decision to let Macy go to be with Bear. They brought her home and David helped Dad bury her right next to Bear and Rocky. The girls are upset, but they understand. I just never thought that dogs could get Autoimmune disorders. From the time she got sick, until the day she left us was.... 4 days.
